EMDR
Eye-Movement Desensitisation Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a psychological treatment designed to help individuals process and overcome traumatic experiences. This evidence-based approach utilizes bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to facilitate the reprocessing of distressing memories or feelings and beliefs that have become stuck. By addressing the causes of emotional pain, EMDR therapy can lead to significant improvements in mental well-being and resilience.
Many people seek EMDR after trying counselling first and finding that some of their symptoms just haven't shifted. You may also have been recommended EMDR following a diagnosis of PTSD or cPTSD.
